Magicpin launches 15-min food delivery service

Looking to take on larger food delivery rivals, hyperlocal e-commerce platform magicpin has launched a quick food delivery service, magicNOW, which will deliver from restaurants within a 1.5-2 km radius of the consumer in 15 minutes.

The service will be initially launched in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, and Pune.

During the pilot phase conducted last month, the new service delivered 75,000 food orders from a network of over 2,000 food brands and over 1,000 local restaurants, the company said in a statement.

Currently, Swiggy has a quick food delivery service called Bolt that delivers food in 10 minutes.

Besides Swiggy, other quick commerce players such as Zomato’s Blinkit and Zepto also have instant food delivery services and tie-ups with food brands.

Magicpin said the delivery on magicNOW will be powered by Velocity, an aggregator of third-party logistics providers such as Shadowfax, Dunzo, Rapido, Porter, OLA, and Zypp.
