Honda Activa electric teased — What are the new details?

Honda is set to unveil its first all-electric offering for India, and it is expected to be the Honda Activa in an EV form. Now, Honda has dropped its first teaser for the same and some new details have emerged from the video. Here are more details.

Honda Activa electric — What does the teaser show?

The teaser is a short clip, showcasing the headlight of the scooter. The headlight unit looks identical to the Activa ICE, an LED unit. The headlight is mounted higher up and not on the front apron, which holds a Honda badging right below the headlight unit. The short teaser video does not show other details, but we can expect a few more.

The Activa electric will mostly be based on the same Activa ICE platform with a few modifications to keep the costs low. The modifications will be to accommodate the battery pack and motors, while the weight of the electric Activa is expected to be slightly heavier than its ICE counterpart.

As per sources and our understanding, the all-electric Honda Activa will offer similar performance to its ICE sibling with a range of around 100km. The scooter is expected to get telescopic forks, a monoshock at the rear, all LED lighting, disc brakes, and more. When launched, it will compete with the Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 range, ATher 450 range, TVS iQube, and others in the segment.
