Upcoming Triumph Scrambler T4 snapped testing — Here’s what we know

Triumph has seen success with the launch of the 400cc platform with the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X. Now, with the introduction of the more affordable Speed T4, the company has opened its doors for riders looking at something slightly subtle, but that brings another question — what about those looking for a scrambler version?

Triumph seems to have answered that with what looks like the new Triumph Scrambler T4 that has been spotted testing. Here are more details and what we know so far about the upcoming Triumph Scrambler T4.

Triumph Scrambler T4 — Design and features

The Triumph Scrambler T4 will retain the overall design of the motorcycle but will feature a different colour scheme, similar to the Speed 400 and the Speed T4. The test mule spotted is finished in black and does not carry any badging to hide its identity. That said, there will be changes in the hardware as well. The motorcycle seems to have a simple handlebar with no braces, no lever guards, and the tail lamp seems to be different. The motorcycle also gets a single-piece seat instead of a split seat like the Scrambler 400X.

While the Triumph Scrambler 400X uses golden USD forks, the test mule is seen with a black USD unit. It also gets a monoshock at the rear, and carries forward the semi-digital instrument cluster, but will most likely skip the electronic aids apart from the dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle is seen with alloy wheels which will remain the same size as the Scrambler 400X, while the alloy wheel design is different.

Triumph Scrambler T4 — Engine specifications

One of the biggest changes seen with the Speed 400 and the SPeed T4 was the detuned engine that makes more torque at a lower rpm. The same is expected to be carried over with the Scrambler T4. The engine makes 30bhp and 36Nm of torque with the help of a six-speed manual gearbox. Triumph has achieved this by swapping the electronic throttle control system with a manual unit and changing the sprocket.
