TCS Vs Infosys: Who’s winning the AI Agent race and what it means for the future of tech?

Information technology sector is going through an experiment with the development and usage of artificial intelligence. The Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys, the two biggest IT companies in India, a closely monitoring the trends in the AI landscape vis-a-vis the clients’ demands.

The two IT majors share one common ground that the clients are moving from the general-purpose AI to single-purpose Agentic AI models. As a result, the two companies are developing AI agents on their AI platforms. While Infosys has developed about 100 AI agents, TCS has also built about 150 AI agents.

Infosys and TCS are approaching generative artificial intelligence development with different approaches. Infosys has taken an approach of AI first company. Insosys is focused on swiftly delivering technologies to its clients. As the company develops new technologies,  it intends to transfer them to the clients.  The company is taking the route of taking on one industry and business after another Industry and business. 

TCS is working on a human-plus-AI model. The company focuses on working with a pool of AI agents alongside the human workforce of the company. Simultaneously, the company is working on cloud infrastructure and AI data centres. 

TCS Vs Infosys: Key AI products of the companies

Topaz is the flagship AI platform of Infosys. The platform integrates services such as delivery enterprise, data, and cloud, along with a scale AI solution under a single platform. Under the single platform, there are a multitude of AI agents that are employed to improve efficiency in different areas like code generation, IT operations, quote-to-order, and bill-to-cash. 

TCS’s  WisdomNext platform is the face of the company’s AI developments. The large number of AI agents on the platform could be compared to the internal interference of the platform. This is aimed at accelerating the AI adoption among clients from different backgrounds.
