RVNL shares in focus on fresh order win: 3 factors to watch at this hour

RVNL’s share price rose 1.5% to a high of Rs 342.50 in Friday’s trade after the company received a Letter of Award from South Western Railway for Rs 156.35 crore. The company has received LoA for engineering, procurement, and construction of 2X25 KV OHE & PSI system (TSSs & SPs & SSPs) including electrical general services.

“Rail Vikas Nigam has received Letter of Acceptance from South Western Railway for “Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for Design, Supply, Erection, Testing, Commissioning of 2X25 KV OHE & PSI system (TSSs & SPs & SSPs) including Electrical General Services, Engineering & Telecommunication works between Rayadurga (Excl.) (CH: 205/463) Topavagada (Incl.) (CH: 106/000) of TK-RDG section (99.463 RKM/114.145 TKM).” The aforesaid work is in the normal course of the Company’s business,” read an exchange filing.

In fact, RVNL has been seeing a series of order wins. Three days ago, the company had received another LoA worth Rs 729.82 crore from HPSEBL for the development of distribution infrastructure at the Central Zone of Himachal Pradesh. “It is hereby informed that Rail Vikas Nigam has received Letter of Acceptance from HPSEBL for “Development of Distribution Infrastructure at Central Zone of Himachal Pradesh under the Revamped Reforms-based and Results-linked, Distribution Sector Scheme (Loss Reduction Work),” said another exchange filing.

RVNL’s Q3 earnings performance

The company reported a 13.1% year-on-year dip in net profit at Rs 311.6 crore for the third quarter of FY25. In the same period in FY24, the company’s net profit stood at Rs 358.6 crore. The revenue declined 2.6% YoY to Rs 4,567.4 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 4,689.3 crore in the same period a year ago.

The share price of RVNL has fallen 2.6% in the past five days. It has declined 15% in the previous one month and over 40% in the last six months. However, RVNL’s share price has given a return of almost 42% in the past one year. 

To compare, the benchmark index, Nifty 50 has risen 0.9% in the last five trading sessions.
