Stock Market Budget 2025 Live Updates: Indian stock markets are all set for the Union Budget 2025-26, which will be presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The GIFT Nifty implied a negative start for the markets on Saturday, February 01. However, the stock market rallied on Friday giving a thumbs up to the budget. 

Previously, on Friday, the Nifty 50 closed the session 258.90 points or 1.11% higher at 23,508.40. The S&P BSE Sensex ended the session 740.76 points or 0.97% higher at 77,500.57.

In the interim budget, Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman raised the Long-Term Capital Gains (LTCG) tax to 12.5% from 10%. The LTCG tax now applies to gains exceeding Rs 1.25 lakh from the sale of listed shares and equity mutual funds. However, market participants are expecting that there will be some changes to revive investor sentiment.
