Petrol, Diesel Price Today 23 January 2025 in Chennai, Chandigarh, Pune, Noida and Varanasi

Petrol, Diesel Price Today 23 January 2024: Oil prices extended their losses in early trading on Thursday as uncertainty emerged over the potential economic impact of proposed tariffs by former US President Donald Trump. The measures that have been targeting multiple countries have raised fears of slow economic growth and reduced energy demand.

As per the latest report, Brent Crude futures went down by 23 cents to $78.79 per barrel, whereas US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped by 18 cents to $75.26.

The recent fall in oil prices has been credited to Trump’s announcement of new tariffs targeted at multiple countries, as per a Reuters report. Economic tensions and geopolitical tension have arisen because of these announcements. Trump has also warned that he will be levying more sanctions against Russia unless the country agrees to end the war in Ukraine. He further added that he may also apply similar tariffs on other countries that are involved in the conflict.
