Markets end in green; Sensex closes at 76,724.08, Nifty above 23,200

The Indian equity market ended the session on a positive note today, with BSE Sensex closed at 76,724.08, up by 0.29%, while the NSE Nifty 50 settled at 23,213.20, marking a gain of 0.16%. The Rupee meanwhile remained weak but off this week’s lows. It ended day at 86.37 against the US dollar.

The Nifty Bank ended today’s trading session at 48,751.70, up by 0.05%.

Here’s a look at today’s top gainers and losers in the market: Top Gainers in Nifty 50

On the gaining side, Trent led the pack with a 3.60% rise. NTPC followed with a 3.40% increase. Power Grid climbed by 2.86%, while Kotak Mahindra Bank and Maruti Suzuki gained 2.24% and 1.79%, respectively.

Top Losers in Nifty 50

Among the top losers, Mahindra & Mahindra saw the steepest decline, falling by 3.03%. Bajaj Finserv dropped 2.46%, closely followed by Axis Bank at 2.45%. Bajaj Finance and Shriram Finance registered declines of 2.19% and 2.12%, respectively.

Top Gainers in BSE Sensex

In the Sensex top gainers, Zomato led with a rise of 5.8%, followed by NTPC at 3.88% and Power Grid at 3.03%. Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tech Mahindra gained 2.24% and 1.62%, respectively, while Maruti Suzuki rounded off with a 1.81% increase.

Top Losers in BSE Sensex

Among the top losers, Nestlé India slipped by 0.80%, Tata Motors fell by 0.99%, and Axis Bank dropped by 2.28%. Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv declined by 2.27% and 2.24%, respectively, while Mahindra & Mahindra registered a loss of 2.86%.

Performance in Nifty Midcap 50

Midcap stocks gainers list includes Vodafone Idea, L&T Finance, The Phoenix Mills, HDFC AMC, Dixon Technologies.
