Petrol, Diesel Price Today 6 January 2025 in Mumbai, Srinagar, Chennai, Shimla and Lucknow

Oil prices reached their highest levels since October on Monday as investors are focused on global fuel demand, Beijing economic stimulus and cold weather conditions in the Northern Hemisphere. As per latest report, Brent crude was up by 15 cents to $76.66 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude climbed 22 cents at $74.18 a barrel. Goldman Sachs has predicted a decline in Iran’s oil production and exports because of anticipated policy changes and sanctions from the incoming US administration. This could lead to a reduction of around 300,000 barrels per day to 3>25 million bpd by second quarter, as reported by Reuters.

According to Rahul Kalantri, VP Commodities, Mehta Equities Ltd, ‘’We expect crude oil prices to remain volatile in today’s session. Crude oil is having support at $72.80-72.20 and resistance is at $74.10-74.70 today’s session. In INR crude oil has support at Rs 6,300-6,240 while resistance at Rs 6,420-6,480.’’
