With the advent of social media and the race for page views, fake news has become increasingly prevalent. Every day, we come across dozens of social media posts and videos making fake claims to tarnish the image of someone or spreading blatant lies, such as false announcements about government schemes supposedly launched for the benefit of students, investors, or specific sections of people.
Now, a video circulating on social media shows Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman promoting a crypto product to earn daily income easily.
In the video the FM is said to be saying that thousands of Indians have already earned up to Rs 15 lakh in just one month with investments starting from Rs 21,000.

However, after checking the facts, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in its Fake News Alert today said that this is a digitally-altered fake video, and has been edited using Artificial Intelligence (AI)! The Finance Minister didn’t promote any cryptocurrency platform or product in her address.
Therefor, “beware of such videos promoting cryptocurrency platforms/ products,” it advised the readers.
