Tracking buzzing stocks: Dr.Reddy’s, Cipla Among Top Gainers; Asian Paint, Grasim Among the Top Losers on December 19 – Check complete list here

Indian benchmark equity indices ended lower on Thursday  (December 19), dragged down by US-rate sensitive IT stocks. The BSE Sensex closed the day at 79,218.05, down by 964.16 points or 1.20 per cent, while the NSE Nifty ended at 23,951.70, falling by 247.15 points or 1.02 per cent.

The Nifty Bank index also finished the day in the red, ending the day at 51,575.70, down by 563.85 points or 1.08 per cent

Sensex Top Gainers

Among the 30 stocks on the Sensex, only three posted gains. Sun Pharma led the pack, rising by 1.32 per cent, followed by PowerGrid with a 0.37 per cent increase, and Hindustan Unilever, up by 0.11 per cent.

Sensex Top Losers  

The top losers on the Sensex included Bajaj Finance, which dropped 2.30 per cent, followed by Bajaj Finserv, down 2.50 per cent, Asian Paints, which fell by 2.12 per cent, JSW Steel, down 2.33 per cent, ICICI Bank, which declined by 1.83 per cent, Reliance Industries, falling 1.70 per cent, TCS, down 1.56 per cent, and Infosys, which dropped 1.61 per cent.

Nifty 50 Top Gainers

The top gainers on the Nifty included Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, which rose by 4.04 per cent, followed by Cipla, up by 2.15 per cent. BPCL saw an increase of 2.05 per cent, while Sun Pharma gained 1.12 per cent. Apollo Hospitals also posted a gain of 1.04 per cent.

Nifty 50 Top Losers

On the other hand, the top losers on the Nifty were led by Bajaj Finserv, which dropped 2.33 per cent, followed closely by JSW Steel and Bajaj Finance, down by 2.31 per cent and 2.25 per cent, respectively. Asian Paints declined by 2.15 per cent, while Grasim fell by 2.17 per cent.

Nifty Midcap 50 gainers

Oracle Financial Services Software led the gainers with a rise of 3.42 per cent, followed by Lupin, which increased by 3.04 per cent. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Persistent both gained 2.25 per cent, while Sundaram Finance saw an uptick of 1.83 per cent.
