The markets have been trading in range for most part of the week. The Nifty and the Sensex closed around 1.3 percent lower ach. The Sensex ended the day in deep red, plunging by 1.30 per cent or 1064.12 points to close at 80,684.45. The Nifty too mirrored the move and closed at 24,336.00, a 1.35 per cent decline or 332.25 points.

Banks among key losers: No Gainers on Sensex

In the BSE Sensex 30 pack, there were no gainers for the day. However, several bluechips saw considerable decline which includes HDFC Bank. The shares dropped by 1.71 per cent, closing at Rs 1,832.85.

Nestle India followed with a decline of 1.79 per cent, ending at Rs 2,202.90. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) fell by 1.80 per cent. Reliance Industries also saw a drop of 1.81 per cent. Other notable losers included Bajaj Finserv (down 1.83 per cent, Rs 1,641.95), Asian Paints (down 1.94 per cent), TCS (down 2.07 per cent), JSW Steel (down 2.40 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 2.46 per cent), and Bharti Airtel (down 2.83 per cent).

Nifty 50 Top Gainers: Cipla the led the gain

In the Nifty 50 pack, Cipla emerged as one of the gainers, with its shares closing at Rs 1,450.55, up by 0.25 per cent. ITC also managed to end the day in the green, gaining 0.13 per cent.

Nifty 50 Top Losers

The major laggards in the Nifty 50 included Shriram Finance, which saw the decline of 5.27 per cent. Grasim Industries followed with a drop of 3.21 per cent, while Hero MotoCorp fell by 3.01 per cent. Bharti Airtel and JSW Steel also faced significant losses, declining by 2.80 per cent and 2.76 per cent, respectively.

Nifty Midcap 50 Top Gainers

In the Nifty Midcap 50 segment, Suzlon Energy led the gains. Oberoi Realty also performed well. Other notable gainers included Max Healthcare Institute, Supreme Industries, The Indian Hotels company, PB Fintech and Petronet LNG.

Nifty Midcap 50 Top Losers

While some midcap stocks performed well, others faced notable losses.
