Top valued firms together add Rs 1.13 lakh crore in market valuation; Airtel emerges as top gainer

Five of India’s 10 most valued companies collectively added Rs 1,13,117.17 crore to their market capitalisation last week, with Bharti Airtel emerging as the top gainer. Despite this positive trend, key players like Reliance Industries and LIC experienced notable valuation declines.

The benchmark BSE Sensex advanced 623.07 points (0.76%), while the NSE Nifty rose by 90.5 points (0.36%) during the week. Among the gainers, Bharti Airtel saw its market valuation surge by Rs 47,836.6 crore, reaching Rs 9,57,842.40 crore, bolstered by strong investor sentiment. Infosys followed with a Rs 31,826.97 crore jump, closing the week at Rs 8,30,387.10 crore.

HDFC Bank added Rs 11,887.78 crore to its market value, bringing its total to Rs 14,31,158.06 crore, while ICICI Bank’s valuation rose by Rs 11,760.8 crore to Rs 9,49,306.37 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also posted gains, with its market cap increasing by Rs 9,805.02 crore to Rs 16,18,587.63 crore.

On the other hand, Reliance Industries, despite retaining its position as the most valued company, saw its market capitalisation drop by Rs 52,031.98 crore to Rs 17,23,144.70 crore. LIC suffered a Rs 32,067.73 crore decline, falling to Rs 5,89,869.29 crore and Hindustan Unilever’s valuation dropped by Rs 22,250.63 crore to Rs 5,61,423.08 crore.

State Bank of India and ITC also recorded minor declines of Rs 2,052.66 crore and Rs 1,376.19 crore, respectively. The ranking of top firms by market capitalisation remained unchanged, led by Reliance Industries, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and Infosys.
