Ola Electric has introduced a new range of electric scooters in its portfolio. The S1 Z electric scooters are affordable choices aimed at urban commuters. We take a deep dive into the new S1 Z scooters and find out whether you should buy it. 

Ola S1 Z scooters: Price

The new S1 Z scooters are available in two variants — Z (standard) and Z Plus. Ola Electric has got the pricing spot on as the Z costs Rs 59,999 and the Z Plus at Rs 64,999, introductory. This makes the S1 Z range the most affordable scooter in the Ola Electric portfolio. Currently, the booking amount for both Z and Z Plus is Rs 499 and according to the company, the deliveries will begin from May 2025.

Ola S1 Z scooters: Swappable Battery

The S1 Z are the first electric scooters by Ola Electric to offer a swappable battery pack. Both the Z and Z plus get a 1.5 kWh battery that offers an IDC-certified range of around 75 km on a single charge. Customers have an option to buy an additional 1.5 kWh battery at an extra cost, which helps double the range from 75 km to around 146 km.

Ola S1 Z scooters: Performance

Both the S1 Z and Z Plus are powered by a 2.9 kW motor with an output of 4 bhp and a top speed of 70 kmph. They managed to clock 0-20 kmph in 1.8 seconds while the Z and Z Plus managed 0-40 kmph in 4.8 and 4.7 seconds respectively.
