Kia Syros set for global debut on Dec 19

Kia has been developing a compact SUV for a very long time which will be slotted in between the Sonet and the Seltos in the Korean carmaker’s lineup. Test mules of the vehicle have been spotted on numerous occasions for more than a year now. Called the Syros, Kia has already shared a few teasers of this upcoming SUV on its social media handles.

The Syros is now headed for its official debut on 19 December 2024. Kia has sent a “block your date” invite to the media fraternity with a tagline  ‘A Bold Leap into the Future of SUVs’. Like all Kia models, Syros will pack a host of the premium features. It is set to kick start a whole new segment of SUVs slotted between the subcompact and mid-size SUVs.

Kia Syros: Expected design

Previous spy shots of the Syros, earlier rumoured to be called Calvis, have revealed a fairly SUV with a flat roofline and upright pillars. Although dimensions of Syros will be compact, the squarish, flared-up wheel arches along with sharp cuts and creases will lend the car a muscular appearance. The clamshell bonnet up front will further enhance its road presence. Recent teaser images have suggested the Syros will carry inspiration from flagship models like EV9 and Carnival.
