Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e launched at Rs 18.9 lakh

Mahindra has finally launched its much-awaited electric SUVs in India, the BE 6e and the XEV 9e. The former carries a price tag of Rs 18.9 lakh and the latter costs Rs 21.9 lakh, both ex-showroom. Bookings for the electric SUVs will begin soon and the details are more than just interesting. Let’s take a closer look.

Mahindra BE 6e — Battery specifications and features

The Mahindra BE 6e is underpinned by the INGLO platform and powering the electric SUV Coupe is a choice of two battery packs — 59kWh and 79kWh. The former makes 221bhp while the latter makes 281bhp, and the torque is the same for both, 380Nm. With the larger battery pack, Mahindra claims an ARAI-certified range of 682km, while the battery can be charged from 20–80 percent in 20 minutes, while the SUV can accelerate from 0–100kmph in 6.7 seconds.

On the features front, the new Mahindra BE 6e features multi-zone climate control, three drive modes, wireless phone charging, dual 12.3-inch floating screens, a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, and an AI interface. On the safety front, the SUV gets 7 airbags and an ADAS suite.

Mahindra XEV 9e — Battery specifications and features

The Mahindra XEV 9e is also based on the same platform as the 6e and powering the electric SUV is a 59kWh battery pack that makes 228bhp. Mahindra claims an ARAI-certified range of 656km and the battery can be charged from 20–80 percent in 20 minutes. The carmaker says that the 9e can accelerate from 0–100kmph in 6.8 seconds.

On the features front, the new Mahindra XEV 9e gets a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS Level 2, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, three screens, and a rotary dial. The XEV 9e gets an Electronic Parking Brake,
