Aadhaar Card Update Deadline: Last date approaching soon! Here’s how to upload documents free-of-cost

Aadhaar Update Deadline Extended: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has asked Aadhaar card holders who had got their 12-digit biometric number issued 10 years back and have never updated after that in these years to get their documents updated by December 14, 2024.

Residents can update their Aadhaar by uploading supportive documents (proof of identity and proof of address) either online through myAadhaar portal or offline by visiting the nearest Aadhaar centre.

The UIDAI has extended the deadline multiple times in the past and now it is once again urging people to update their documents for continued accuracy of information in the Aadhaar database.

“#UIDAI extends free online document upload facility till 14th December 2024; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This free service is available only on #myAadhaar portal. UIDAI has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their #Aadhaar,” the UIDAI said in a post on social media platform ‘X’.

Here’s how to upload online documents free-of-cost to update Aadhaar

-Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in

-Log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

-Check identity and address details displayed in your profile to ensure they are correct.

-Click the option ‘I verify that the above details are correct’.

-Choose the identity and address verification documents you wish to upload from the provided drop-down menus.

-Upload the selected documents, ensuring each file is under 2 MB and in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format.

-Review all the information and submit the update request to revise your Aadhaar details.
