Global cues for markets at this hour – Here are top 5 factors to watch ahead of market opening

Indian equity indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50, are expected to open on a positive note on Friday, as indicated by GIFT Nifty, following the gains in U.S. markets and favorable cues from Asian stocks.

GIFT Nifty ended up by 90.50 points or 0.39% at 23,457.50 indicating a positive opening for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Friday. Previously, on Thursday the NSE Nifty 50 ended down by 168.60. points or 0.72% to settle at 23,349.90 while the BSE Sensex plunge 422.60 points or 0.54% to 77,155.79.

Key global cues to know on November 22, 2024

Crude Oil

Oil prices climbed nearly 2% on Thursday, partially recovering from last week’s over 7% drop, as ongoing conflict in the Middle East and anticipated Israeli retaliation against Iran raised concerns about potential disruptions to the region’s supply. The WTI crude prices are trading at $70.014 up by 0.06%, while Brent crude prices are trading at $74.29 higher by 0.08%, on Friday morning.

Asian Markets

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region are trading in positive territory on Friday morning. The Asia Dow is trading up by 0.70%, where as the Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading in green, up by 0.63%, South Korea’s KOSPI index is traded higher by 0.94% and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite trading in green, up by 0.10, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng traded in green up by 0.19%.

Wall Street

Wall Street’s main indexes closed higher after choppy trading on Thursday, with the blue-chip Dow and the S&P 500 hitting one-week tops, reported Reuters.

US Dollar

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six foreign currencies, traded down by 0.01% at 107.04.

FII, DII Data

Foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 5,320.68 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 4,200.16 crore on November 21, 2024, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.
