Piyush Goyal urges industry to play proactive role in helping govt in Ease of Doing Business agenda, raise quality standards

While speaking at FICCI’s 97th AGM and Annual Convention, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, on Thursday, said that Viksit Bharat has to be a collaborative effort between the industry and the government. “I urge the industry to play a more proactive role in helping us in our Ease of Doing business agenda to reduce compliance burden, decriminalize any laws which are decremental to industry,” he said.

During his address, Piyush Goyal stated that the stature of India across the world is growing year-on-year and India is recognized as the growth engine of the world. The world looks upon India’s leadership to make the world a better place. He further stated that the Global South wants India to play an even more important role in the world’s future and all of this is on the back of ‘trust’. “India today has earned the trust of the world and is looked upon as a trusted partner. Indian businesses today are increasingly becoming a part of the global value chain,” he emphasized.
