Honda Two-wheelers India is gearing up to step into the electric vehicle industr.y with its upcoming electric scooter which is rumoured to carry forward the “Activa” nameplate. Expected to be called “eActiva” or “Activa Electric”, the new electric scooter has been teased on multiple occasions in the past couple of weeks.
The Japanese automaker has released yet another teaser of the forthcoming battery-powered scooter which is slated to make its debut on 27 November 2024. Previous teasers had shown faint glimpses of the Honda electric scooter including highlights such as a rectangular LED headlight, electric motor, and seat profile.
Honda electric scooter teased
The latest teaser video reveals a very key feature about Honda’s first ever electric two-wheeler. The 14-second video reveals that the scooter will receive twin swappable batteries which are slotted underneath the seat. This means that the upcoming e-scooter won’t be offering any practical underseat storage.

The above development confirms the fact that the upcoming Honda electric scooter won’t be based on the petrol-powered Activa, even though it might share the same nameplate. These are contradictory to previous reports which suggested that the upcoming eActiva will share the same underpinnings as its ICE namesake.
The latest and the previous teaser also gives away the fact that Honda’s first electric two-wheeler in India will indeed be based on Honda CUV e: which recently made its first public appearance at EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy earlier this month. Visually, the CUV e: is very similar to its concept predecessor but it is no way similar to the petrol-powered Activa.

It carries a very sleek and minimalistic design with wide headlight on the front apron, flush-fitting pillion footrests and taillight bar. The upcoming electric scooter will come equipped with twin removable battery packs which leaves negligible room for storage. In the media release shared during EICMA, Honda revealed that the CUV e: will carry the twin battery packs of 70 km on a single charge.
