GIFT Nifty suggests that Indian equity indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50, may experience a subdued start on Thursday, following a marginal decline in U.S. stocks and mixed cues from Asian markets. Investors are likely to remain cautious amid global market uncertainties.
GIFT Nifty is trading down by just 12 points or 0.05% at 23,659.50 indicating a lacklustre opening for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Thursday. Previously, on Tuesday the NSE Nifty 50 ended up by 64.70. points or 0.28% to settle at 23,518.50 while the BSE Sensex jumped 239.38 points or 0.31% to 77,578.39.

Asian Markets
Shares in the Asia-Pacific region are trading in mixed territory on Thursday morning. The Asia Dow is trading down by 0.40%, where as the Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading in red, down by 0.83%, South Korea’s KOSPI index is traded higher by 0.03% and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite trading in green, up by 0.66%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng traded in green up by 0.19%.
Wall Street
The tech-heavy Nasdaq closed lower on Wednesday, taking a break from the prior session’s rally as investors worried about escalating Russia-Ukraine tensions and weak results from Target, while awaiting earnings from megacap Nvidia that landed after the bell, reported Reuters.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite ended down by 28.84 points or 0.15% at 18,958.63 The S&P 500 ended higher by just 0.13 points at 5,917.11, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading down by 42.78 point or 0.10% at 43,365.69.
US Dollar
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six foreign currencies, traded down by 0.02% at 106.59.
Crude Oil
WTI crude prices are trading at $69.07 up by 0.47%, while Brent crude prices are trading at $73.13 higher by 0.44%, on Thursday morning.
FII, DII Data
Foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 3,411.73 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 2,783.89 crore on November 19, 2024, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.
