The new generation KTM 390 Adventure is a highly anticipated motorcycle courtesy of the brand’s huge following across the country. The latest iteration of the adventure tourer recently made its debut at EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. It was previously reported that unofficial bookings for the upcoming 390 Adventure have begun at select dealerships.
The Austrian bikemaker has now shared a new video on its social media handles which shares a small glimpse of the new 390 Adventure. The video is part of the brand’s promotional campaign for the upcoming India Bike Week (IBW) 2024 in Vagator, Goa where the new 390 Adventure is slated to make its India debut.
Test mules of the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure have been spotted globally over the past two years. KTM is set to launch this model in two variants: the Adventure X and the Adventure R. The latter will feature enhanced off-road capabilities and premium components.

The Adventure X will ride on a 19-inch and 17-inch front wire-spoked alloy wheel setup and offer a seat height of 825mm. The off-road-focused Adventure R, however, will be equipped with larger 21/18-inch wire-spoke wheels and a higher 885mm seat height.

Suspension travel will be 200mm on the Adventure X with a non-adjustable setup, while the Adventure R will offer 230mm of travel with fully adjustable components. The Adventure R will also benefit from a premium TFT instrument cluster and a suite of electronic rider aids, including cornering ABS and traction control. The Adventure X, on the other hand, will feature a simpler LCD display and standard ABS.

Both models will share the same trellis frame as the latest 390 Duke, and will be equipped with inverted front forks, a rear monoshock with a single-sided swingarm, and single disc brakes at both ends. Power will be derived from a familiar engine — the 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit that powers the new-gen 390 Duke. The engine delivers 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.
