JMM Vs BJP

The elections have shaped into a direct contest between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA bloc and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Central to the electoral narrative are the BJP’s welfare schemes and the controversy surrounding Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s recent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to alleged land fraud. Soren, who was later granted bail, has accused the BJP of using central agencies for political vendettas.

The JMM-Congress-RJD alliance is defending its stronghold, having won 47 seats in the 2019 Assembly elections.
