Jharkhand Elections 2024: JMM releases poll manifesto, promises 33 per cent reservation for women, free education till PhD

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) unveiled its manifesto on Monday, outlining several key promises just two days before the first phase of the state’s assembly elections. Among the highlights are free education from kindergarten through PhD, interest-free agricultural loans, loan waivers for small and medium traders, and 33% reservation for women in state government jobs. The party also vowed to restore the powers of the Gram Sabha by reversing changes made to the Forest Conservation Act.

The manifesto, presented by JMM co-founder Shibu Soren, took aim at the policies of the previous BJP-led government (2014-2019). It promised to repeal the 2017 amendment to the Land Acquisition Act and the Land Bank Policy.
