BJP to set up committee to identify infiltrators if it comes to power in Jharkhand, says Amit Shah in Seraikela

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Monday that if the BJP forms the next government in Jharkhand, it will establish a committee to identify and drive out infiltrators from the state, while also reclaiming land that has been illegally occupied by them.

Shah also vowed to introduce legislation to prevent the transfer of land to infiltrators who marry tribal women, accusing the ruling JMM-led government of patronising Bangladeshi migrants.

“The tribal population in Jharkhand is shrinking, and infiltrators are taking our land by marrying our daughters,” Shah said during a rally in Seraikela. “We will pass a law to stop land transfers to infiltrators in such cases and will form a committee to identify and drive them out.”

He claimed that Champai Soren, a former leader, was forced to resign as chief minister after raising the issue of infiltration, which he alleged was ignored by current Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Shah also criticised the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition for corruption, accusing its leaders of enriching themselves through various scams.

“The corrupt leaders of the JMM-led government will be sent to jail once the BJP is in power,” Shah said.

The BJP leader promised that under a BJP government, every rupee sent by the Centre would be supplemented by an additional 25 paise from the state government, ensuring that Rs 1.25 reaches the people.
