Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Monday that if the BJP forms the next government in Jharkhand, it will establish a committee to identify and drive out infiltrators from the state, while also reclaiming land that has been illegally occupied by them.
Shah also vowed to introduce legislation to prevent the transfer of land to infiltrators who marry tribal women, accusing the ruling JMM-led government of patronising Bangladeshi migrants.
“The tribal population in Jharkhand is shrinking, and infiltrators are taking our land by marrying our daughters,” Shah said during a rally in Seraikela. “We will pass a law to stop land transfers to infiltrators in such cases and will form a committee to identify and drive them out.”
