Skoda Kylaq vs Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Which SUV should you buy?

Skoda has officially entered the compact SUV segment with the launch of the Kylaq. The new vehicle is Skoda’s most affordable SUV in the market and will go up against the best-seller in the segment, Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Here is all you need to know about the two compact SUVs including specifications, dimensions and features. 

Skoda Kylaq vs Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Engine Specifications

The new Kylaq is powered by the 1-litre TSI turbo petrol engine with an output of 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. The engine is available in two transmissions — a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters. According to Skoda, the Kylaq manual model does 0 – 100 kmph in 10.5 seconds.  

Maruti Suzuki Brezza, on the other hand, comes with a bigger 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, but it churns out 102 bhp and 136 Nm of torque. It offers a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter. According to Maruti Suzuki, the manual version returns 19.89 kmpl and AT 19.80 kmpl.
