Next-gen Ducati Streetfighter V2, Panigale V2 makes global debut at EICMA 2024

EICMA 2024 turned out to be a global exhibition of some of the best upcoming two wheelers in the global market. Manufacturers from all over the world showcased some exciting products including production-ready as well as concept models. Ducati is one of the prominent names in EICMA and this year it had a wide range of models on display at the annual motoring event.

However, the biggest highlights of the Ducati pavilion were the new-gen Streetfighter V2 and Panigale V2. Both bikes receive some significant upgrades over the outgoing model, the biggest of them all is a brand new engine. Like most Ducatis, there are two variants on offer for both bikes – standard and S.

New-gen Ducati Streetfighter V2, Panigale V2: Engine

Powering the new-gen Ducati Streetfighter V2 and Panigale V2 is a brand new 890cc 90-degree, V-twin liquid-cooled engine which pumps out  118 bhp and 93.3 Nm of peak torque. Compared to the previous models, power output has dropped from 153 bhp to 118 bhp but the bikes have become lighter as well.

The Panigale V2 S weighs 176 kg, while the Streetfighter V2 S tips the weighing scales at 175kg. This is a lot less than the previous models which almost weighed 200 kilos. Further, the new 890 cc L-Twin weighs 54.4 kg which is 9.5 kg lesser than the outgoing 955cc Superquadro engine.

The new V2 range is based on an aluminium monocoque frame, with a conventional double-sided swingarm which sits on 43mm Marzocchi USD front forks and a Kayaba rear monoshock, both fully adjustable. The V2 S models benefit from a more premium Ohlins suspension setup. Both bikes roll on 120/70-ZR17 front and 190/55-ZR17 rear tyres shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 rubber.

Braking duties are handled by twin 320mm discs with Brembo M50 Monobloc callipers at the front while the rear gets a 245mm disc with a 2-piston calliper.
