New-gen Skoda Kodiaq India launch confirmed for May 2025

Skoda has been selling the current-gen Kodiaq in India for more than seven years. The new-gen Kodiaq made its global debut in October last year and will soon land on Indian shores. It has now come to light that the Kodiaq will come to India in May 2025. During the launch of Kylaq, Skoda revealed that the second generation Kodiaq will launch in India around the time mentioned above.

Like the current model, the new Kodiaq will also be available in India as a locally assembled Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kit. Test units of the 2nd gen Kodiaq have been spotted on multiple occasions over the past few months. We also got to know that production for the SUV will commence around March 2025 at the company’s facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Design

The latest generation of the Skoda Kodiaq offers a bolder, more angular design compared to its predecessor. The front end retains the familiar Skoda butterfly grille with vertical slats, but now features a redesigned split headlight setup with wider main units and LED DRLs. A sleeker air dam and a front-mounted radar sensor hint at advanced driver assistance features.

While the side profile retains the SUV’s overall shape, new alloy wheel designs and a longer rear overhang suggest increased interior space. The rear end is completely revamped, with C-shaped LED taillights, Skoda lettering, a roof-mounted spoiler, and optional D-pillar trim.

Based on the VW Group’s MQB platform, the new Kodiaq will continue to be offered as a 7-seater SUV in India. In terms of dimensions, the new Kodiaq will be 4,758mm in length, making 59mm longer than before compared to the current Kodiaq.  However, the height, width, and wheelbase of the SUV remain unchanged.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Interiors & features

While the interior of the India-spec Skoda Kodiaq is yet to be fully revealed, it’s expected to mirror the European model’s layout, adapted for right-hand drive. Feature highlights of the new Kodiaq include a 13-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, LED matrix headlamps, fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, a branded sound system, and a powered tailgate, etc.
