Kia Clavis officially teased, launch around corners?

A few years ago, Kia will only be concentrating on developing utility vehicles for the Indian market, which means Kia will only be launching SUVs and MPVs in the country. Therefore, the lineup of cars currently looks like Seltos, Sonet, Carnival, EV9 and EV6. The next in line is another compact SUV which is likely to be named “Clavis”.

Prototypes of this SUV have already been spotted testing on Indian roads on numerous occasions for the last few months. And now the Korean carmaker has shared a teaser of the upcoming SUV. Kia says that the upcoming compact SUV is based on the brand’s  Design 2.0 philosophy which takes inspiration from flagship models like EV9 and Carnival Limousine. We expect Kia to launch this SUV sometime in early 2025.

Kia Clavis: Exterior design teased

The teaser image released partially reveals the design of the car, however, the silhouette of the car is clearly visible. As seen in the spy shots earlier, the profile of the Clavis is very boxy with tall pillars and a flat roofline. Although the dimensions of the Clavis will be compact, the squarish, flared-up wheel arches along with sharp cuts and creases will lend the car a muscular appearance. The clamshell bonnet up front further enhances its presence.

The latest teasers also reveal the L-shaped LED taillights along the D pillars and reflectors on the bumper. at the rear with a flat tailgate. Up front, the L-shaped LED DRLs on the side of the bumper and large air intakes are the most prominent highlights. The other notable visual highlight are the roof rails which look functional. Previous spy shots have revealed that Kia will employ dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels for the Clavis.
