EICMA is the stage for new motorcycles and concepts for upcoming two-wheelers. German two-wheeler maker BMW has unveiled an interesting concept: the F 450 GS, an entry-level GS focused on off-roading. When it goes into production, the F 450 GS will sit in between the G 310 GS and the F 800, however, there are chances of it even replacing the G 310 GS completely.
BMW F 450 GS concept — What is it?
The new BMW F 450 GS is an off-road-focused adventure motorcycle, featuring the typical GS design language. It gets a high front fairing with a beak, a flat seat and is built around a trellis frame. BMW’s aim was to keep the weight down to make it friendly for the A2 license. BMW intends to make the production version of the motorcycle as close to the concept and also make it accessible in terms of saddle height.

The motorcycle gets long-travel suspension with adjustability for the front and rear, while it gets a 19-17 wheel setup with wire spoke wheels. The 450 GS concept gets a TFT display, and all the electronic aids a motorcycle can probably get such as lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, and more. The motorcycle gets disc brakes at both ends and BMW has focused on making the motorcycle agile, be it on the road or off it.

BMW F 450 GS concept — Engine specifications
The F 450 GS is powered by an all-new 450cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine was built ground-up and is A2-compliant with 48 bhp on tap. What is interesting here is to see if TVS has a hand in it and if the new engine could see a TVS version in adventure clothing. BMW will start production of the concept soon and the final version will be showcased next year.
