The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has released a new guide for pensioners on submitting their annual Life Certificate in 2024. This guide aims to simplify the process, making it easier for pensioners to ensure they continue receiving their pensions without delays. Below are the options available for submitting the Life Certificate, either manually or digitally.
Manual submission option for pensioners
Pensioners can visit their bank branch where their pension account is maintained. They should submit a signed Life Certificate form, which can usually be obtained at the bank.
If a pensioner prefers not to appear in person, they can submit the Life Certificate signed by a designated official. This allows for easier submission without the need for personal appearance.

Digital submission option
Jeevan Pramaan Portal: Pensioners can submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) online through the Jeevan Pramaan portal. This process requires biometric authentication, which can be done using the Jeevan Pramaan mobile app or by visiting designated biometric centers.
Face Authentication: A new feature allows pensioners to use face recognition through their smartphones for authentication. This option is especially beneficial for those with mobility challenges.
Doorstep Banking and Postal Facility: For pensioners unable to visit a bank or center, doorstep service is available through participating banks or postal services. A bank representative or postman will come to the pensioner’s home to assist with biometric authentication for Life Certificate submission.
The DoPPW encourages all pensioners to utilize these digital methods for their convenience, security, and efficiency in submitting their Life Certificates. By following these guidelines, pensioners can ensure that their pension payments continue smoothly without interruptions.
