Mahindra overtakes Tata Motors for second month in a row

Mahindra & Mahindra set a new record for October sales by delivering 54,504 vehicles in the passenger vehicle segment, the highest number in the company’s history. During this festive period, Mahindra also achieved a remarkable 25 per cent year-on-year growth. As a result, Mahindra outperformed Tata Motors for the second consecutive month. Tata Motors sold 48,423 units in the passenger vehicle category, which includes electric vehicles. The company boasts the most comprehensive electric vehicle lineup in the country, featuring models such as the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, and the recently launched flagship model, the Curvv EV.

The great Indian SUV showdown: Mahindra vs Tata

In the past two months, starting from September 2024, Mahindra has experienced impressive growth. In September, the company surpassed the 50,000-unit mark, recording 51,062 vehicles sold, which represents a year-on-year growth of 23.7 per cent. This achievement propelled Mahindra to become the third most successful automobile manufacturer in the Indian market, surpassing Tata Motors by under 10,000 units. Mahindra almost overtook Hyundai, India’s second-largest carmaker, but fell short by just 39 units.
