Honda Activa Electric: Launch timeline confirmed, specs and more

Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) played a crucial role in revitalizing the struggling scooter market with the launch of the Activa in 2001. Many sceptics believed that this would be the end for Honda’s two-wheelers in India even before establishing itself. However, Activa has since become a cult favourite and remains the top-selling scooter in the market.

Although HMSI may maybe entering the electric two-wheeler segment later than some competitors, the company is now preparing to launch the much-anticipated Activa Electric. Here’s everything we know so far about the new Honda electric scooter.

Honda Activa Electric: What to expect?

According to reports, the Activa Electric will utilize a new platform designed to accommodate the battery pack. While the specifications and range have not yet been disclosed by the Japanese two-wheeler company, the scooter is expected to appeal to a mass-market audience. Honda is likely to continue with its established approach by incorporating a fixed battery pack instead of a removable one. Similar to other electric vehicles in the segment, the Activa Electric will feature a touchscreen display with various smart functions accessible via Bluetooth connectivity.

Activa Electric will compete against Ola Electric, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ather Rizta.
