Royal Enfield “airdrops” electric bike teaser again ahead of EICMA debut

Every Royal Enfield launch is a highly anticipated event but come this EICMA in Milan, there will be something extremely special from the Chennai-based brand on display at the annual motorcycle exhibition. The company is gearing up to unveil its first electric motorcycle on 4 November 2024 in Milan, Italy.

Enfield had teased its upcoming electric motorcycle recently on its social media handles last week. The short teaser video revealed a motorcycle being airlifted by a parachute. The company has yet again “airdropped” another teaser of the battery-powered motorcycle ahead of its EICMA debut.

The latest teaser video of the Royal Enfield electric bike reveals the shadow of a motorcycle engulfing tall skyscrapers. The teaser also confirms the date of debut as 04/11/2024, i.e., the day EICMA 2024 commences. While there is no confirmation about the upcoming bike’s name, many reports suggest that the upcoming battery-powered motorcycle could be named “Flying Flea” — a legendary moniker from the era of World War 2.

Royal Enfield electric bike expectations

A few days ago, a test unit of the bike was spotted testing on the streets of Barcelona in Spain where the motorcycle is believed to have been conceptualised. Previous spy shots of the bike reveal interesting details such as girder forks up front, which suggests that the model might still be in a pre-production phase.

Components like front and rear fenders, headlamps, and indicators are in sync with the signature retro styling of Royal Enfield. Similar to the patents filed earlier this year, the Royal Enfield electric motorcycle test mule gets a round LED headlight borrowed from the 650cc and 450cc lineup and a slim and low-slung build.

The upcoming Enfield electric motorcycle is also expected to be equipped with adjustable levers, and the turn indicators are mounted closer to the circular instrument console. The bike will also supposedly get a single-piece saddle for the rider. Other highlights include an aluminium swingarm, alloy wheels, round mirrors along with relatively thin tyres.
