Nissan eyes Patrol launch in 2026: Salman Khan already owns two

Nissan India has been like a solo artist rocking out with just one hit single, the made-in-India Magnite. Against all odds, this compact SUV has kept Nissan’s show on the road. Recently, Nissan tried to spice things up by launching the X-Trail, but with a price tag that competes with the Toyota Fortuner and arriving via the CBU route, it hasn’t exactly set the sales charts ablaze.

Now, Nissan is in a bit of a pickle, pondering whether to roll out its flagship, the Patrol, in India. Rumour has it that this Landcruiser rival will hit the Indian roads in 2026. The Patrol is already a legend in many countries, and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has just added a second Nissan SUV to his star-studded garage. Let’s dive into what makes the upcoming Patrol a potential blockbuster and why Bhai’s SUVs are the talk of the town!

Nissan Patrol: What to expect?

Why is Nissan toying with the idea of unleashing the iconic beast, the Patrol, in India? Well, the all-new SUV is currently only available as a left-hand drive vehicle. However, Nissan plans to roll out a right-hand drive version for the Australian Outback and markets like South Africa and Japan. According to Autocar India, the right-hand drive version is definitely in the pipeline for India.

Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. India is expected to get the twin-turbo model. This ultra-premium vehicle could come with a price tag exceeding Rs 1 crore.

It’s specially armoured with cutting-edge security features, including explosive alerts, bulletproof shielding against assault rifle shots even at point-blank range, and fireproof windshields and windows. This customized Patrol was imported from Dubai.
