When Aprilia launched the heavily-localised RS 457 in India earlier this year, it was almost certain that the Italian superbike brand would offer multiple models based on this platform. One of them would be an adventure tourer which is most likely to don the Tuareg nameplate. For reference, Aprilia offers its ADV lineup with the Tuareg brand name like the Tuareg 660.
A video of the Aprilia Tuareg 457 has leaked online on YouTube channel Moto.IT, an Italian motoring publication. In the video, a prototype of the new Tuareg is shown testing on a rally trail. The images clearly reveal the “Tuareg” branding on the fuel tank. The test mule on display in the video is most probably a rally-spec model of the upcoming Tuareg 457.
Aprilia Tuareg 457: Expected details
The bike has been registered as a Aprilia 450 twin-cylinder in the Africa Eco Race and is being ridden by Marco Menicini. In all likelihood, the Tuareg 450 is currently being prepared for the upcoming edition of the Dakar Rally by the engineering team of Aprilia. This can be confirmed by the tower navigation setup installed on the test mule. This also means a road-going version of the same will also be introduced.

With EICMA 2024 in Milan just around the corner, the new adventure tourer is very likely to break cover officially at the annual motorcycle exhibition. The video reveals quite a few details about the upcoming middleweight ADV bike. For starters, the left side of the engine case of the prototype looks similar to the RS 457. The overall design tries to mimic the larger Tuareg 660.
