Royal Enfield electric motorcycle — 3 things to expect

Royal Enfield will be unveiling its first electric motorcycle soon, and while the company showcased the all-electric Himalayan, it will have to wait for what’s being unveiled on November 4th. It is good to see the world’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer shift to electric mobility, however, here are three things to expect from the all-electric Royal Enfield.

Royal Enfield electric bike — What to expect?

Design

Let’s start with the visual looks. While the design may look un-Enfield-like, the older generation knows it is very much a Royal Enfield design. The design is inspired by the Royal Enfield Flying Flea, produced between 1939 and 1945. The new electric motorcycle sports a similar design, but with modern touches. The design could get mixed opinions, but since Royal Enfield is going electric, there is no harm in trying out something new to attract a new set of customers.

Features

On the features front, the motorcycle could get LED lighting and LED turn signals. Apart from that, the image reveals a single seat, a round instrument cluster that will most-likely be a TFT unit, alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, and ride modes. Royal Enfield could also include a traction control system, but given that the EV market is new and open to explore for RE, possibilities could be endless.

Practicality

Royal Enfields have earned a reputation for being long-distance tourers, however, with the electric motorcycle, it could be aimed more at commuters owing to its battery range. It could also be a lifestyle product that could feature a lot of tech, but it won’t be a mile-muncher like its ICE counterparts. RE has not revealed details about the battery pack or range, but expect more news from EICMA this year.
