Reise Moto traceRAD review — Has it hit the sweet spot?

Tyres. There are a plethora of choices for motorcycle tyres, however, in India, the choices are limited due to the government’s mandate for BIS certification. With limited choices, a new brand is always welcome and this time around, it’s from Reise Moto, in the form of the traceRAD. Aimed at sub-500cc motorcycles, the traceRAD promises to be the sweet spot between grip, durability, and price.

We were invited to CoASTT to see how the tyre performs on a high-speed circuit with enough corners and long straights to push the tyre to its limit. Adding to that was the severe downpour from the previous night that left us with a wet track in the morning. After a couple of laps, the track eventually dried out and here’s what we think of the traceRAD.

The traceRAD features zero-degree steel belt construction, meaning its steel belts are positioned at zero degrees to the direction of the tyre’s rotation, which helps deliver better grip, especially when accelerating out of a corner.

The W-rated tyres are designed to offer superior traction in dry and wet conditions, and around twisties, while also offering good life for those looking for sport touring. While the traction was something we could test first-hand, tyre life will be tested in the coming days when we have the product for a longer period.

As mentioned earlier, we were greeted with a wet track after severe downpours from last evening. Our first few laps were on the wet track and we were cautious, but amazingly, the tyres held well. A few slips and slides and eventually, the track dried out.

On the dry, the traceTRAD left quite an impression with the amount of grip it offers around corners and exiting them.
