Dhanteras Diwali 2024: The festival of Dhanteras holds special significance in Hinduism, it is celebrated as a symbol of wealth and health. This day is related to Lord Dhanvantari, who appeared with Amrit Kalash during the churning of the ocean. Since then the tradition of celebrating the festival of Dhanteras started. Dhanvantari is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is called the god of Ayurveda. On this day, the worship of Lakshmi and Narayan is considered to be especially fruitful, and people buy metals like gold, silver and copper to please them.

Importance of buying gold-silver and other metals

Buying gold, silver, copper, and other metals on Dhanteras is considered auspicious. These metals are dear to Goddess Lakshmi and it is believed that buying them brings happiness and prosperity in the family.

This year, the festival of Dhanteras will be celebrated on October 29. Just as there is a special time or muhurat for puja on Diwali and Dhanteras, there is also an auspicious time for buying gold or silver on this occasion. So, when is the right time or muhurat to buy gold on this day?

Right time to buy gold on Dhanteras day

This year the auspicious time of Dhanteras will start on October 29 at 10:31 a.m. and will last till 1:15 p.m. on October 30. You can buy gold during this entire period. However, if we talk about the right time, it will start at 12:01 a.m. on October 29 midnight and will end at 2:45 a.m. late night.

Gold prices ahead of Dhanteras, Diwali:

On October 26, gold 24-karat prices in the national capital quoted at Rs 79,740 per 10 grams

Domestic gold prices have risen about 30% in the past one year and are now hovering near Rs 80,000 per 10 grams level. Since last year’s Diwali on November 10, gold price has jumped from Rs 60,750 to Rs 79,000 per 10 grams, showing a rise of around 30%, according to IBJA.

Despite gold prices hitting record highs, the demand has not slowed down and is expected to breach the psychological level of Rs 80,000 per 10 grams before this Diwali.
