JCBL launches dental clinic on wheels to provide dental care in remote areas of Ladakh

JCBL has announced the launch of a Dental Clinic on Wheels as part of Project Smile Himalaya; an initiative led by Rotary International (Germany and Bangalore), Swami Vivekananda Sewa Trust (Karnataka), and Vision Himalaya (Ladakh), that aims to provide advanced dental care to the remote villages of Ladakh, where access to healthcare is a considerable challenge.

Dental Clinic on Wheels: Features and Details

Designed and manufactured by JCBL, the mobile clinic is specially designed to navigate Ladakh’s rugged terrain, providing essential dental services to communities with limited healthcare access. It ensures that all dental equipment is well-integrated within the examination area and storage space.

By converting a Caravan chassis into a fully functional dental facility, it can treat one patient at a time while allowing 2-3 other patients to wait. It features a foldable dental chair, wall-mounted fixtures, and a base stool for medical staff. The vehicle also includes essential features such as a first aid kit, a toolbox, a document box, an ambulance siren, and a foldable ladder to ensure easy access and functionality in tough conditions.
