Adani Green subsidiary operationalises 275 MW solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) on Friday announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Adani Green Energy Twenty Five A Limited has operationalized a 275 MW of solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat. In a regulatory filing, the company said, “In furtherance to the intimation dated March 30, 2024 regarding operationalization of projects, Adani Green Energy Twenty Five A Limited, Wholly-owned stepdown subsidiary of the company has operationalized an incremental 275 MW of solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat.”

Based on the clearances, the company said, the plant is operationalised and will commence power generation from 28 February.

With commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 12,258.1 MW.

Earlier in January, Adani Green Energy had released its fiscal third quarter earnings report with a profit surge of 85 per cent at Rs 474 crore in comparison to Rs 256 crore in the same period last year. The company recorded Q3 revenue at Rs 2,365 crore, up 2.3 per cent as against Rs 2,311 crore in the year-ago period.

This month, the Gautam Adani-owned firm had announced its decision to withdraw from its planned $1 billion wind energy project in Sri Lanka. Despite securing most approvals, Adani Green had cited delays including unresolved environmental clearance and a Supreme Court case, as reasons for its decision. In its letter to Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment (BOI), Adani Group had said, “Our executives recently had discussions with CEB officials as also with Ministry officials at Colombo. It was learnt that another Cabinet appointed negotiations committee (CANC) and Project Committee (PC) would be constituted to renegotiate the project proposal. This aspect was deliberated at the Board of our company and it was decided that while the company fully respects the sovereign rights of Sri Lanka and its choices, it would respectfully withdraw from the said project.”
