Royal Enfield has teamed up with Sena, a popular helmet intercom maker to launch the 50S, a helmet intercom that can connect up to 24 riders via its group mesh intercom system. The initiative is to celebrate the success of the Super Meteor 650. The new Royal Enfield Sena 50S is priced at Rs 35,990, similar to Sena’s portfolio of intercoms.
Mohit Dhar Jayal, Chief Brand Officer at Royal Enfield, expressed excitement about the partnership with SENA. “We are thrilled to partner with SENA, a pioneer in motorcycle communicationtechnology, to introduce the co-branded 50S Mesh Communicator.”
He added, “This collaboration underscores our dedication to providing motorcycles with enhanced riding experiences, especially with the launch of Super Meteor 650, which represents the pinnacle of cruiser motorcycling. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is the brand’s third twin-cylinder motorcycle based on the 650cc platform and is a dedicated cruiser with a low-slung design. Powering the Super Meteor is the familiar 650cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47bhp and 52Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield Sena 50S features
The intercom can be retrofitted to most helmets as long as they have speaker pockets ready. The Royal Enfield Sena 50S features speakers by Harman Kardon and the built in battery takes two and a half hours to fully charge while it can last for 12 hours. The 50S had jog dials that are easy to use with the riding gloves on.
In terms of connectivity, the company claims a range of 2 to 8km, depending on obstacles and the terrain. The company also says that 24 riders can be connected via intercom, while it can have unlimited range when connected to a cellular network, the phone. The device also supports voice commands and is fully waterproof.
