Cyient appoints Sukamal Banerjee as its Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer effective Feb 19

Cyient Limited on Wednesday announced that it has appointed Sukamal Banerjee as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company for a period of 5 years with effect from 19 February 2025. Sukamal Banerjee would be a Key Managerial Personnel and part of the senior management.

In a regulatory filing, the company said, “We wish to inform that, based on the recommendation of the Leadership, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company have, at their meeting held today, appointed Mr. Sukamal Banerjee as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company for a period of 5 years with effect from 19 February 2025. The said appointment will be subject to the approval of the shareholders and Central Government, as applicable.”

Sukamal Banerjee, it added, is an accomplished professional and an acknowledged leader in the engineering sector. “He brings thought leadership in transitioning industries across technological changes and building global capabilities across geographies,” Cyient stated. He holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering and MBA in Finance & Strategy.

Earlier in January, Cyient had released its October-December quarter results for FY25, with a drop of 31.7 per cent in profit at Rs 122.3 crore, compared to Rs 179 crore in the preceding quarter of FY25. The company’s revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,926.4 crore. Cyient was hurt by slower growth in its biggest segment and higher costs during the December quarter. 

Shares of Cyient were down by 0.52 per cent at 5:50 pm at a trading price of Rs 1,476.55.
