Royal Enfield electric motorcycle spotted testing ahead of EICMA debut

Royal Enfield is gearing up for the upcoming edition of EICMA in Milan, Italy with plenty of models to showcase including production-spec as well as concept models. However, the biggest highlight at the annual motorcycle show will arguably be its the electric motorcycle which was teased on the company’s social media handles earlier this week.

Now, a test mule of the brand’s first battery-powered motorcycle was spied on foreign soil ahead of its official debut. These images have reportedly been clicked almost a month back on the streets of Barcelona in Spain. In all likelihood, the model to be presented at the event is expected to be more than just a concept but a pre-production working prototype.

Earlier in the teaser released last week, the short video showed a bike being airlifted by a parachute. This was exactly the method adopted by the Royal British Army to air drop the Flying Fea motorcycle at the battlefields during World War 2. Hence, some publications believe this upcoming motorcycle could be named Flying Flea given the familiarity in its shape and size.

Components like front and rear fenders, headlamps, and indicators are in sync with the signature retro styling of Royal Enfield. Similar to the patents filed earlier this year, the Royal Enfield electric motorcycle test mule gets a round LED headlight borrowed from the 650cc and 450cc lineup and a slim and low-slung build.
