Johnnie Walker-maker United Spirits posts Q3 profit decline of 4.29% to Rs 335 crore, revenue up 11.06% YoY

United Spirits, which makes Smirnoff vodka, on Thursday reported a profit of Rs 335 crore for the third quarter of FY25, posting a decline of 4.29 per cent in comparison to Rs 350 crore during the corresponding quarter of previous financial year. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 7,732 crore, reporting a growth of 11.06 per cent as against Rs 6,962 crore during the third quarter of FY24. Consolidated EBITDA was at Rs 568 crore, up 16.9 per cent YoY. The company posted net sales at Rs 3,433 crore, up 14.4 per cent YoY, broadly in-line with growth in the standalone business.

Hina Nagarajan, CEO & Managing Director, said, “Amidst a moderate but sequentially improving demand environment, we have delivered a quarter in line with our aspirations buoyed by the festive season and fast scale-up in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Looking ahead, we remain cautiously optimistic in the short-term while remaining committed to the long-term potential of the India consumer story.”

For the nine month period of FY25, United Spirits recorded net sales of Rs 9,038 crore, up 5.9 per cent YoY, in line with the growth of the standalone business partly off-set by the early start to IPL 2024. The company posted profit for 9MFY25 at Rs 1,161 crore and EBITDA stood at Rs 1,783 crore, up 7.0 per cent YoY. 

United Spirits’ Q3 performance across business segments

The Prestige & Above segment accounted for 89.2 per cent of net sales during the third quarter of FY25, up 1.0 ppt over the previous year. The segment posted net sales value growth of 16.1 per cent during the third quarter. For the nine month period, the Prestige & Above segment recorded net sales growth of 8.8 per cent.

The Popular segment, meanwhile, accounted for 9.7 per cent of net sales during the third quarter of fiscal 2025, down 0.5 ppt compared to the same period last year. The segment recorded net sales value registered a growth of 9.6 per cent during the third quarter. For 9MFY25, the category recorded net sales growth of 0.6 per cent.
