Petrol, Diesel Price Today 14 January 2024 in Mumbai, Prayagraj, Chandigarh, Srinagar and New Delhi

Petrol, Diesel Price Today 14 January 2024: Oil prices continue to hover around  four-month highs as the market remained focused on new US sanctions on Russian oil exports. As per the latest report, Brent crude futures declined by 28 cents to $80.73 a barrel whereas US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped to 18 cents and were at $78.64 a barrel.

Prices went up by 2% on Monday following the US Treasury Department’s announcement of sanctions on Gazprom Neft, Surgutneftegas, and 183 vessels involved in Russia’s ‘’shadow fleet’’ of oil tankers. These measures aim to obstruct a major part of Russia’s oil export operations, leading to market uncertainty, as per Reuters report.

Market participants are keeping a close watch on the release of the US producer price index (PPI) later on Tuesday and the consumer price index (CPI) which is slated to be released on Wednesday.
