NSE and BSE have released the list for stock market holidays in 2025. Indian stock markets will have a total of 14 trading holidays. These stock market holidays are spread throughout the year, with one holiday each in February, May, November, and December. There will be two holidays each in March and August, and three holidays in April and October. These holidays are observed on important festivals and occasions, during which the trading in stock markets remains shut.
The stock exchanges have officially announced the list of holidays for the year. Here’s the full list:
- February 26, 2025 (Wednesday) on account of Mahashivratri
- March 14, 2025 (Friday) on account of Holi
- March 31, 2025 (Monday) due to Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Id)
- April 10, 2025 (Thursday) on account of Shri Mahavir Jayanti
- April 14, 2025 (Monday) due to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti
- April 18, 2025 (Friday) due to Good Friday
- May 1, 2025 (Thursday) on account of Maharashtra Day
- August 15, 2025 (Friday) due to Independence Day
- August 27, 2025 (Wednesday) on account of Ganesh Chaturthi
- October 2, 2025 (Thursday) due to Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti / Dussehra
- October 21, 2025 (Tuesday) on account of Diwali – Laxmi Pujan
- October 22, 2025 (Wednesday) due to Diwali Balipratipada
- November 5, 2025 (Wednesday) due to Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev
- December 25, 2025 (Thursday) Christmas
In 2025, the following holidays will fall on weekends:
Republic Day on January 26 (Sunday) Shri Ram Navami on April 6 (Sunday) Bakri Id on June 7 (Saturday) Muharram on July 6 (Sunday). Normally these days are also a stock market holiday and there is no trading on these days.However, as they are on weekends, there will be no impact on regular work or trading hours for the stock markets.
