Mukesh Ambani appoints Ira Bindra as Group President for HR at Reliance   

Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, has announced the appointment of Ira Bindra as the Group President for People, Leadership, and Talent. Bindra will play a pivotal role in revamping people policies across all business verticals and driving a comprehensive HR transformation at the conglomerate.

At 47, Bindra is the youngest and the first non-family woman to join Reliance’s influential Executive Committee. In her new role, she will work closely with Mukesh Ambani, his children Isha, Akash, and Anant, as well as the Executive Committee to implement cutting-edge HR and people development practices.

Bindra brings extensive experience to Reliance, having served as the Head of Human Resources and Vice President of Global Regions at Medtronic, USA. A graduate of Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi, she also holds an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. Her career spans leadership roles at GE Capital, GE Healthcare, GE Oil & Gas, and Medtronic.

Ambani praised Bindra’s expertise, stating, Bindra is a global HR and business leader with deep domain expertise across industries, geographies, and business cycles. She will partner with all our business and HR leaders to build on our strong foundation, creating world-class HR and people development practices to further elevate Reliance’s global stature.”

Expressing her enthusiasm, Bindra said in a LinkedIn post, “I look forward to partnering with Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Isha, Akash, Anant, and the entire leadership team to propel Reliance’s growth and transformation, leveraging my past experiences to drive meaningful change.”

Bindra’s appointment comes amid Reliance’s rapid expansion and innovation across sectors. The company, ranked 86th on the Forbes Global 500 list, reported a consolidated revenue of USD 119.9 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024.
