Google Trends: Mahila Samman Yojana among top keywords! Know eligibility rules and how to apply for this Delhi govt’s scheme

Mahila Samman Yojana has been among top keywords in Google Trends on Friday, December 13. The Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana (MMSY) is a new initiative launched by the Delhi government as part of their 2024 budget announcements.

Ahead of the Delhi assembly polls, the sate government has announced the details of the scheme, which aims to empower women financially by providing them with a monthly sum of Rs 1,000.

Delhi’s former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced the scheme last month and said that the registration process would start soon. As per reports, the registration for the scheme will start from December 12, 2024.

The implementation date is not known yet, but it is likely to be launched by the Aam Aadmi Party government if it returns to power in Delhi.

Mahila Samman Yojana started trending on Google after the details emerged about the Delhi government’s scheme which aims to uplift the lives of underprivileged women in Delhi through a monthly grant of Rs 1,000.

It is expected that a large portion of Delhi’s female population will be covered under the scheme, with some reports suggesting that around 45-50 lakh women may be eligible.

Eligibility and registration process:

Eligibility:

  • To become eligible for the scheme, you must be a permanent resident of Delhi.
  • The applicant’s age must be 18 or above.
  • The applicant’s family income should not be more than Rs 3 lakh per annum.
  • The applicant cannot be receiving benefits from any other Delhi government scheme.
  • He or she should not be a government employee or a taxpayer.
  • Those receiving government pensions are not eligible.
  • The applicant needs to furnish Aadhaar card and a voter ID to apply for the scheme.

The applicant needs to give a self-declaration through an affidavit declaring he or she meets the eligibility criteria and is not receiving other benefits.
