Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6e new details revealed ahead of debut on 26 Nov

The entire automotive industry is keenly awaiting the launch of Mahindra & Mahindra’s upcoming born electric range of SUVs which broke covers a couple of years ago in their concept stages. The company will unveil two models from the Electric Origin range called BE 6e and XEV 9e.

Like all the born electric range, both the SUVs will be underpinned by the INGLO skateboard architecture. Mahindra has now shared some key details of this platform. The company has released a video of the same where Veluswamy R,  Automotive Technology & Product Development, Mahindra Automotive, is seen explaining the various attributes of the INGLO platform.

Mahindra INGLO architecture details

INGLO is a lightweight, scalable and modular born-EV platform where the battery cells are spread across the entire area of the platform which means better space utilisation and weight distribution of the vehicle. There will be two battery options on offer: a 59kWh and a 79kWh, both made of LFP (Lithium iron phosphate) chemistry. The homegrown automaker promises that it will be capable of offering best-in-class range and efficiency.

The platform allows DC fast charging capabilities up to 175 kW which can rejuvenate the battery pack from 20-80 percent in just 20 minutes. The Indian automaker promises that it will be capable of offering best-in-class range and efficiency. Further Mahindra claims that the intelligent battery and thermal management system maintains optimal performance over numerous charge cycles, delivering sustained power, extended range, and dependable safety across varying terrains and climates.

As revealed in previous reports, the modular INGLO architecture is compatible to house different drive configurations including front wheel, rear wheel, and all-wheel drives. The architecture comprises motor(s), an inverter and the transmission and hence Mahindra refers to this platform as a compact three-in-one powertrain. The motors have been sourced from Volkswagen.
